Designation Courses
All Designation Courses are held at the Arthur Gary School of Real Estate in Westbrook, Maine.
Accredited Seller Representative:
With buyer agency being all the rage, maybe we have not taken care of the seller the way we should. Attend this course to obtain new ideas on working for sellers and how to take your seller representation to the next level. Topics include an overview of the Do Not Call law, tips for a marketing package, discussion on what sellers really want in an agent, deciding whether you really want to take the listing, staging the property, uncommon listing strategies, how to handle the last minute crises and much more.

The Accredited Seller Representative course is approved for 4 hours of continuing education credit by the Maine Real Estate Commission and 3 hours by the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission.
Accredited Buyer Representative Designation(ABR) Course:
The Accredited Buyer Representative course of the National Association Of REALTORS® is a much sought after designation in the real estate industry today. Topics included in this course are duties to the client, responsibilities to the customer, agency conflicts, buyer counseling services, building a buyer representative business, negotiating as a buyer representative and much more.
Innovative Marketing Techniques will be offered as the elective. This course covers such topics as determining your market strategy, positioning yourself, marketing tips and much more useful information for buyer’s agents.
To acquire the ABR designation you must pass the two-day ABR course plus 1 elective course.
GRI candidates. The ABR course plus the New Laws And Rules Maine core course will satisfy the requirements for the GRI 102 module.

- September 25 and 26, 2008 9:00am to 5:00pm each day
Program fee is $295.00. This includes all material and first year’s dues.

The ABR course has been approved for 14 clock hours of continuing education by the Maine Real Estate Commission and 3 clock hours of continuing education by the New Hampshire Commission.
Innovative Marketing Techniques Course:

Program fee is $150.00. Includes all material.

The Innovative Marketing Techniques course is approved for 3 clock hours of continuing education by the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission.
Senior Real Estate Specialist:
Receive your SRES designation with this two day course.
Topics covered include: equity conversion without moving, tax implications upon sale, estate planning, segmenting the market, understanding client’s current needs, and client relationships.
The SRES counts as an elective for the ABR designation.

- May 8 & 9, 2008 8:30am to 4:30pm each day
- November 13 & 14, 2008 8:30am to 4:30pm each day
Program fee is $395.00.Program fee includes all material and first year’s dues of $99.00.

The Senior Real Estate Specialist course is approved for 6 clock hours of continuing education by the Maine Real Estate Commission and 3 clock hours of continuing education by the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission.
Real Estate Professional Assistant (REPA):
The Real Estate Professional Assistant (REPA) course is a comprehensive two-day certificate course that provides an intensive introduction to the real estate business and to the specific ways support staff can become valuable assets to their employers. Every administrative employee in the office, from the listing secretary to the personal assistant, will benefit tremendously from this quick-start program.
At the conclusion of the course you will:
- Be knowledgeable in the day-to-day operations of the real estate business, from state laws and
regulations down to conducting business.
- Be familiar with terminology used in the real estate business.
- Be able to assist a real estate licensee in: Farming, Marketing, Listing, Showing, Inspections and follow-up.
- Be able to provide support in the preparation of: Listing agreements, Sales contracts and addenda, Seller net sheets, MLS input and output.
- Be able to track due dates, deadlines, termination dates, etc.
- Be able to provide general follow up and support to the licensee in day-to-day operations,understanding the specific activities permitted to be performed by a licensed and/or an unlicensed professional assistant.
